Multi pronged do along or "x point status report" if you need your consistency:[More:]
1. Ran into someone i knew i high school at the store, the chick to tried to draft me into modeling in fact. Was glad i sounded like i really needed the good cold medicine. Cards were exchanged and she was sweet, but

2. it jibes oddly with how i was thinking just last night about how deathly bored i am of having to make people feel good about their life choices so they don't think automatically think you are judging their life choices, how happy i am to avoid "friends" i don't think i can really be honest with about what they do or say or what have you. Not that i even think she'll be like that, but

3. Lordie, i feel like crappity. i think it's just a cold or the weather or lots of simple, reasonable, logical things, and even though i got a lot of things done today, i'm physically down and emotionally blank.

4. i got overcharged on mangoes as they were rung up as a vidalia onions. It's only a few cents but it bugs me.

5. What if i had functioning bluetooth, wireless, computer, photoshop, camera, scanner, printer and tablet all at once? It's really too much to ask for, isn't it.
6. Oh, yeah, i forgot again. i have to take a pic of those metachat overalls for whoever wants them and is a size small.
What else am i forgetting...

1. For as long as I've been even remotely aware of music beyond the Top 40, I've heard people referring to The Basement Tapes as some sort of Holy Grail/Rosetta Stone of all things Dylan. Last night, I was able to locate and dl the full five-disc set.

2. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish until about 2:30 this morning. Ordinarily that's not all that late for me, but circumstances have conspired this week to keep me from napping before work.

3. I am an empty husk of a man. But at least I've got The Basement Tapes.

4. An empty husk with a really short fuse. Inanimate objects are pissing me off. Animate ones, too.

1. I did something ethical today. Once a week this woman who works at a science publisher (or something, I forget) comes in with a shitload of arcane math and physics texts. She makes a pretty penny on it (usually $700+) and usually throws me ten or twenty bucks. Today as I was returning from lunch I saw her. Her books were already unpacked and being processed.

I chalked it up as a loss and told the shelver kid who had filled in for me that I was back and he took off (he'd been working at the store for ten years but at one of our annex locations so I had only just met him). The lady came by and pressed a ten into my palm and I thanked her. At first I didn't think much of this since she'll sometimes throw my partner a $10 even if he dosen't do much. Maybe she dosen't want anyone feeling left out.

Later it started to gnaw at me that maybe she hadn't given him anything, so I went looking for the guy. I felt bad about it because of the idea of getting paid for someone else's work. I asked my coworker Marcos where I could find the guy and he said that he was on lunch and probably at the bar down the block downing a few cold ones. I waited for the guy to return and hollered his name when he passed. he smelled of booze and seemed nervous. I asked him whether the lady had given him any money. he said no, so I gave him the ten bucks. he seemed surprised. So despite being a lazy apathetic sexist drunken slob, you can't accuse me of being amoral.

2. i rewarded myself for my attack of ethics with some of this and a bottle of this(I'm softening my liver with a Bud first) and a bio of Mike Bloomfield, a Joeseph Wambaugh novel and a few other books from the dollar pile.

3. this book is a really interesting story rivetingly told so far. read it.

quitting smoking... so so.

Woo hoo! Nice going, kellydamnit!

Hey, three in a week is great if it's down from a pack a day! If your goal is zero, then aim for zero, but don't shoot yourself down in the meantime.

1. Undergoing Friday night decompression with potable lubrication.

2. Lacking sufficient resolve to pursue any resolutions (which I never much believed in anyway).

3. Several months' worth of tensions have taken up residence in my back, neck, and shoulders. GOTO 1.

kellydamnit, the saying I like for situations like yours is "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." Congrats on your accomplishment! Keep it up!

kellydamnit that is wonderful! My sister quit a year and a half ago and I still tell her every few months how cool I think that is.

1. had a bad dream & woke up too early.
2. went snowshoeing and ably got over it.
3. going to Manchester tomorrow to watch the debates from the Ron Paul bar if I can find it just because it will be more interesting than the John Edwards bar.
4. too cold to do anything but take a bath and get in bed.

1. Astounded to learn about these free old movies on this bitorrent of which you speak. The 39 Steps, free and legal? Topper? Bugs Bunny? Ehhhxcellent.
2. Upset stomach. Again. Why? Why so often lately?
3. Bothered by tightness of jeans. Must resume workout program ASAP, but need to first buy swim cap, new goggles, and stopwatch, as those items respectively disintegrated from chlorine, got lost in the ocean, and broke.
4. Also bothered by knowledge that low mood is totally caused by drop in exercise routine, but low mood somewhat preventing me getting off ass to resume again. Must break cycle. Tomorrow.

Congrats, kellydammit, and keep it up. Every time you choose not to smoke, you learn better how to beat the addiction. It won't be that hard very long. Hang in!

1. I'm sick.
2. And MuddDude is out of town, like always.
3. He's never here to take care of me, and that pisses me off. I don't know anyone else who flies home 6 or 7 times a year. It's weird.

1. Finally over the norovirus - that gastrointestinal bastard that's going around. It sucks bum. If you get it, drink lots of water.

2. Dinner and drinks with friends tomorrow, yay. Chinese, done in a Indian style. Apparently this Chinese couple lived in India for 15-odd years and have added Indian spices and recipes to Chinese dishes. Went there once and the food kicked ass, and I'm sure it will again.

3. Sick on New Years (with said bug) and missed The Furios (local ska band) and my friend's band who opened for them. They're called "Anger, Power, Fury and the Filth". Name's a bit much, but the music's good.

4. Want to continue the groove laid down by UWS on MeChaRadio right now, but have nothing prepped that'd be this good. bummer.
