omg. bunny? [More:]I've wasted a good hour clicking around the San-X site this afternoon. I wish I could read japanese.
That single-eared bunny idea is a rip-off of Matt Groening's proto-Bart Simpson- a disaffected one-eared rabbit character in his Life In Hell comic.

Parts of the babelfish translation:
What? The creature which is done in a certain day my house.
Therefore going ones which do not know well whether it is what, ' what? ' っ て name could be acquired.
Such a ' what? ' With, something of the family being strange, something it is pleasant everyday start.
The ほ and others, you do, something it becomes matter of concern being, the ょ?

Going ones which do not know well whether it is what. Therefore ' what? ' With it is named.
As for charm point kelp of head (? ) With with true っ white ふ っ or ふ possible ぶ hair. The kelp like this the っ which is て is hard moderately, grip feeling is very much good.
The human bosom っ body, character is gentle. Little bit, being foolish, art is not remembered.

Here's Bongo, insecure juvenile rabbit from Matt Groening's "Life in Hell" (and namesake of his comics publishing company)...

The Japanese one-eared bunny is somewhat more... dare I say it... phallic. Coming soon in vibrating model to your local store.

I love Groenings strip "Life in Hell", though I don't remember what alternative paper I used to read it in. The Village Voice maybe? It's funny to think that he came up with the Simpsons to be used the Tracy Ullman Show because he didn't want to give up his "good" characters. It does make me glad that the "Life in Hell" characters remain unsullied by commercial success.

Heh, there was this one strip where Bongo is.... meh, nevermind.
