three point status update 1) I have norovirus. any other UK buns have it?→[More:]
2) we have an awesome accountant who taught me all manner of usefulnesses about the books today.
3) i thought i had food poisoning not an infectious disease when i met with him! didn't touch anything tho, hope he doesn't get sick.
1. I cannot get my head back into work. I'm working at home tomorrow, and hopefully come Monday I'll be more in a work frame of mind. I have a ton of work to do in the next two weeks.
2. The threatened snow did not arrive, but it was very cold today.
3. I had the norovirus a month ago. You have my sympathies, BtGoG.
It doesn't seem like good advice to tell people to stay away from hospitals when they have norovirus (as it says in the article you linked to). I mean, I understand the logic, but sometimes stomach flus dehydrate a person to the point where they require IV fluids.
1: My fixed rate mortgage is coming to an end next month. A new one is going to cost me at least another £100 a month - money that I really, really don't have. I need to work out how to get a good pay rise from my boss.
2: I was watching the local news and saw that a colleague of mine from about a decade ago was on it. His four-year-old daughter accidentally hanged herself whilst playing on new years day.
1. I feel bad for all the people in Iowa who have been harassed for weeks by all the political stuff. But I'm also excited to see what comes of it!
2. Dinner tonight- fried potatoes! Comfort food, woo woo.
3. It is cold cold cold COLD here in NYC. I "should" go to the gym tonight, but instead, I'll stay home and play with my warm puppy.
I've still got this weird bug that's had me in its grip for god knows how long. I'd been putting it down to bad diet and stuff, but the number of people I've met in the last week that have or know someone that's got the same symptoms is weirdly high. Watch out for a bad cough and a recurring sore throat that won't go away and a few days of being laid up.

1. I have only dread about the presidential campaign. I feel for the people in Iowa, who will be forgotten as of midnight tonight, for another 4 years. Not one of the candidates on either side gives a shit about them.
2. Went home at lunch and made a marinara sauce for dinner company tonight.
1// Am wearing a really nice (new!) wool pencil skirt, white fitted button-down, and light stockings that looks fantabulous on me, and I feel sexy and pretty.
2// Have the hiccups all of a sudden and can't get rid of them.
3// Coworker Jeff keeps giggling at how cute my hiccups are.
1. Can't get pictures off the phone, which is just one of the many current technical difficulties i am experiencing.
2. Can't get myself to eat anything substantial. Debating liquid options.
3. Can't get over the feeling i've forgotten some very important things as i avoid thinking of the many things i should be doing but can't or am being persuaded not to-- oh, it's all so complicated.
1. Tripped to avoid stepping on my cat (a la Paula) and fell by my mailbox 2 days ago. Still in pain. (And I stepped on him anyway.)
2. Having a hard time with the below 20 degree nights here in the Deep South in my old drafty house that sits on little pylons of bricks like an early '70's bookshelf.
1. Took wife to ER yesterday with a suspected blood clot in her leg. When tests came back negative they just said she had an inflamed nerve. Or something.
eth, do you dig (or even mildly tolerate) irish carbombs? say yes and I'll upload you a dozen or two.
reason I ask is that the new year's cretins who raided our domicile brought an xtra TWO bottles of Bailey's plus a handle of Jameson's and FOUR (count 'em) FOUR fucking CASES of Guiness.

anyways neither the mister nor I can handle more than a couple every so often (cos we're pathetic drinkers the both of us) and thus this shite is taking up all the goddamn space in our beer fridge / booze locker.
and if I don't lick this head cold i ain't gonna be drinkin' no time soon, nohow.
1. Back in Asheville. LDRs are tough - I want to be in two places simultaneously all the time and I need a tardis. I mean I neeeeeeed one. 1a - I'm still in love.
2. Just uploaded like a bazillion pictures to flickr from my last six days of mad traveling. Some are good. Some are not. I'm so damn relieved by the end of my picture a day thing that I don't care.
3. House completely trashed by kids while I was gone but it could have been worse although they burned through almost a whole cord of wood which is both annoying, expensive and fucking terrifying - monster eejit teens! Chimney old! You're not supposed to build bonfires in the woodstove!
1. I have what seanyboy described above. Today was my first vertical day since last Friday. Still have sore throat, but the coughing, snot-disease, chills, fever, sweats, seem to have passed.
2. I thought I'd get out of bed after 5 days of not eating and I'd be a supermodel. But I'm pretty much the same. (Well, my younger monster child said, "You look terrible.")
3. Now for some reason I can't sleep. Maybe the results of sleeping on and off for 5 days.
Okay, I made my one thing into three. Well, waddyawant.
I was in hospital yesterday... I'll bet I was exposed to every infectious disease going. I'll be getting bird flu, mad cow, MRSA, norovirus... all sorts.
