"I Had Lost My Mind" from The Devil and Daniel Johnston (movie trailer)→[More:]I just caught this on DVD over the xmas break, and I found it to be by turns sad, funny, disturbing, and heart-warming (and not in any way exploitative, contrary to several reviews that I read at the time of the movie's release).

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHOY:

I really liked that movie, even if it did depress the hell out of me in some places.

I did find it strange that essentially the entire doc was already made by DJ and the "directors" essentially just used his piles of tapes. And the bit with Laurie was a bit hard to watch. Those are just a few of the things, some of the scenes of his mental illness manifesting and taking over are even more disturbing and very hard to watch.

But, yeah, I love DJ and I hope he makes enough money to live comfortably with all the cigarettes and soda he wants.
