An amazing feat done by a family friend -- Pilot loses propeller, calmly glides 8 miles from about 16,000 feet to safety without being able to see out the windshield.

Wow, this is all the more amazing because of all the stories I hear of people dying in small plane accidents. Just a few months ago, my mom's neighbor died in that way, leaving a widow and two kids with no dad.
