Tonight we find out if "Peanut" is a boy or a girl [More:]We're going in for an ultrasound tonight to find out the sex of our baby. Though they've found a heartbeat with the doppler, my wife is worried that we'll find out something is wrong.

While studying for her Master's degree she was taught roughly everything that could go wrong with a baby, which she explains here.

Meanwhile, I'm a bit worried too, but I'm also pretty excited to know whether it's a boy or a girl.

We already have both a boy name and a girl name picked out, so it'll be nice to move away from Peanut (what we thought Peanut looked like on the first ultrasound) to either Philo or Molly.
But Peanut is a fine name! ;)
Congrats!!

I am honored you would name your child after my cat.

You'll never stop being terrified. Wait until the first morning after Peanut sleeps through the night. You'll be grabbing the phone to dial 911 on your way to the crib. ;)

I'm sure Peanut's a healthy and happy little blob. Breathe deeply, and likely all will be well.

Oh, and congratulations. Wait until you meet this kid -- it's going to change you more than you can conceive of.

Our guy was "Spud" until he was born, even though we knew we were having a boy, and had a name picked out. The ultrasound is fun .. seeing a tiny hand, or the baby's face in profile. Lots of things could go wrong of course but the odds are very much in your favor for everything being just fine. It's such an exciting and special time. I hope Mrs. Drezdn is feeling good. Are you going to let us know when you find out?

Funny the first thing I thought of upon reading Peanut was birderders cat!

And while pregnancies are extraordinarily complicated magicness, and yes a bazilliontramillions things could go wrong, a gazouptradillion don't, so the odds are for you.

It's a boy! I'm pretty sure he was giving us a thumbs up on the ultrasound.

Wheeeee!

Even though I have been on weekly/monthly ultrasounds the docs at my clinic say they won't know until February maybe.

I want to know what my Blob is now!

We call ours Peanut too - and he's all boy, according to the 31 week ultrasound I had today. we already knew the sex, but the tech typed "A BOY FOR SURE!" on the shot that had his equipment most prominently displayed :-)
