I am! I tend to not take time off over holidays, because I can catch up at work (once I get motivated, hence this post), I've just had a few days off, I don't have kids or a close family. and I prefer to take my precious little time for vacations or mini vacations, or random days off. I also have holiday hangover already and need to take waaaay better care of myself in the New Year, so the last thing I need is another day laying about. I'm less of a threat to myself here. Who's with me!
I'm "working". No paid days off, so here I am, sitting at the computer, doing small tasks, but generally just being in the office in case the boss comes in.
Also "working" with no paid time off. I have some stuff due early January and a review, too, neither of which is moving me to work half as much as having time off would have done.
Good mornging friends! I hope yours gets better, mgl. I am revising my productivity plans downward, but at least I'll get one project done and maybe some filing. And clean up my cube. I'm not a neat freak, but I'm running out of room to create more piles of work.
I work today--we're understaffed, since everybody took vacation, so I'll be spending most of my day sitting at a public desk, compiling monthly statistics, writing policy documents and waiting for someone to come to me with a computer problem.
Here, I brought these leftover holiday cookies. I'm going to go get a cup of coffee. Does anybody want anything?
I'm noodling around with a drawing for a bathroom that may or may not be useful at some point. I'm at the house, though, so it doesn't feel worky. Also listening to radioio ambient which is good & spacey.
Here! There was a power outage, which just got fixed, so no network. The LAN is still down but the net seems to work.
Cleaning office, recycling a lot of paper, and doing two projects that require writing and pulling documents from here and there will be my Winter Break.
Although tomorrow, Portland in the afternoon for some after Christmas shopping.
I'm at work as well. I did not want to get out of bed. Just got here and have 8 hours to go. And it is freezing in here. Doesn't anybody believe in heat?
I'm at work! But hardly working...yuk yuk yuk. No seriously, my job is 10 times more difficult right now because no one else is working (outside of this office I mean).
I was at work (first day yay!) and the one other person who showed up (in an office of 5) decided we should bail at 3 since there were no requests or anything coming in.
I am! It's the first time in my entire life that I've gone to work on Boxing Day.
It's uncannily quiet around here. I won't be here for long, though; in about twenty minutes I'll be heading up to the city to check out yet another apartment for my parents. Hope this one's more or less habitable.
In theory I'm working.
In reality I got up early, dressed like a grownup, and dragged my ass across town to read the news, metachat, jezebel, and craftster.
