Saying "No" at work It seems like I've developed a complete inability to turn down projects. [More:] Y'all may know I work at an engineering firm that does contract work for bigger companies, which means we live and die by our "backlog" (ie, projects on our plate that haven't yet been funded). But now, I'm looking at my schedule for 2008, and this backlog is rapidly becoming a now-log. I don't do well with multi-tasking ...

Off topic: The internet is such a wonderful place for giving a home to niche cultures, like airplane spotters.
This is the main thing I am worried about at my next job. I'm worried in my eagerness to please, I'll take on more than I can realistically handle.

Good luck, muddchica, and enjoy the new year.
