I was up till the wee hours last night reaching the end of Silent Hill 2. Scary. Damn. Game.→[More:] There are something like five other endings possible for the game, plus a "sub-scenario" based on one of the other characters, so I'm looking forward to playing the game some more, once I've given it a few weeks to let my nerves stop jangling.

I also REALLY hope that the rumors are true, and Silent Hill: Origins*, which was a Playstation Portable, is going to be ported over to the PS2 and released next spring. To me, it looks even better than Silent Hill 5, also due next year. Silent Hill: Origins trailers one and two.

Never played it or the original. I just know the movie was scary as shit.

SH2 is my favorite game ever. It's the best of the series, IMO.

It drives me crazy that I can't walk into a Gamestop or whatever and buy SH2 and SH3. It's like, wtf. YOU SELL USED GAMES. THESE ARE USED GAMES. PLEASE HAVE THEM TYVM.

SH2 is, yeah, the shining moment. SH1 is pretty great, but the difference between the PS1 and the PS2 is so absolutely stunning in this case that the original just can't summon up as much atmosphere.

SH3 is pretty solid too, but after SH2 it's not as stunning or surprising—more (very well executed) of the same.

SH4 is a weirdo Doki Doki Panic-esque rebrand thing; I enjoyed it, but it's really some other game that they decided to turn into a Silent Hill game so they could sell more units, I guess.
