Can I be dabitch's little girl? How cute is this bedroom? The answer is "very, very cute."

ha, aaaaw, thanks. I'll adopt you! She picked the wallpaper herself. I picked the lamp in the ceiling. The plan is to paint the pipes on each end (it's an old kitchen so we have a gas-pipe and a water pipe on each end) as trees, one as a birch and the other as an oak, and have their leaves meet in the ceiling by the stucco.

The magnetic butterflies on that wallpaper are just wonderful; painting the bottom half of the wall with magnetic paint was genius! I didn't even know there was such a thing.

It really IS beautiful dabitch! I love how you've involved Perle in the choices too; a lot of people wouldn't let a child mess with their design!

So pretty! I'm jealous. I always wanted to live in a forest, too.

I seem to remember reading a book at some point (I feel like it may have been Agatha Christie's autobiography?) in which there was a room that had a green ceiling and lots of windows so that you could lie on the floor and look up and feel like you were under a forest canopy. I always wanted that room, so I love the idea of painting the pipes as trees!

Aw thanks. To be honest I'm a tad jealous too, her room is the closest to completion in this mess of a house. Of course I have to involve Perle in making, painting and choosing stuff for her room, I want her to like it for years to come before she turns all angst filled teen with all black walls. Plus she scores like a bandit at the fleamarket, she got these pooh-illustrations framed for 10 kronor (like, a dollar and a quarter)... She knows what she likes and is armed with coins!

Can't wait until the trees are finished, the oak one will double as a shelf to put stuff on. That project has been on hold way too long.
