Askin'MeCha: What is this style called? [More:] It's not quite damask, certainly not baroque, but this swirly, nature inspired style is popular. Does it have a name?
To me it's a bit reminscent of some of Peter Max's work ... often referred to as the Psychedelic Movement in art and graphic design.

Whatever it is, it's delightful and I want to go to the Land Where That Lives.

IANADesigner, but there's also a lot of Art Nouveau inspiration in the curled horticultural forms.

I really want to know this, too. At one point I was going to post an AskMe about it, but I lost track of my example links.

Another vote for Peter Max/Psychedelic. It brings me back to the 1960's... against my will.

post-Nouveau? Seriously it's so new it doesn't seem to have a name quite yet.

Ha, I was going to post an askme about this, or about the more general emergence of trends. Suddenly this style is EVERYWHERE, and I wondered how that happened.

Apparently, the stake we pounded into its heart in the late 1970's wasn't deep enough.

Those British mags like Computer Arts Projects or Digital Creative Arts, and the like, are often full of that sort of illustration.

I don't know but I love it. I am always trying to imitate it in Photoshop for fun.
