BBC homepage beta The BBC has opened up the beta of their new homepage for feedback.→[More:]
The colour scheme is automagically taken from a colour in the main picture on the page, so it's all currently purple. It all feels, well, very unfinished and WTH is with the weather icon for "sunny"? There's no sun on it, just a while blur! I hope this isn't anywhere near finished because it's really average.

What does anyone else think?

it's, uh, very web 2.0

i love the retro clock in the corner.

why can't i delete the sports section altogether? (particularly since the headings are so damn big)

the radio and tv bits i can see being useful

when i click the tabs and change the colours, some of them are a bit eyewatering

over all - a bit short of anything truly useful or entertaining

You can delete sections by clicking Customise Homepage.

I don't hate it as much as I thought I might, but...

Tons of wasted space at the top
Fonts too big/clunky on 1024×768.
Dragging modules isn't quite right: far too much 'snap-to' distance on dragging and none at all on release.
News doesn't stand out enough.

That said, the clock looks nice.

Okay, found a screw-up on BBC Beta:
"The US-Iran 'nuclear game' continues despite latest findings" is accompanied by a thumbnail picture of Roger Clemens and links to article "Baseball's field of bad dreams".
