Three-point status update →[More:]
1. I talked to my sister on the phone this evening and she is delusional. She has been prescribed anti-psychotic drugs. But she is also being very manipulative. Patients are encouraged to do their own laundry, there's a washer and dryer,so a friend took her in some detergent. But my sister has given her dirty clothes to her neighbour when she visited and inveigled her into washing them. My sister is used to being waited on hand and foot and is a wizard at getting people to do things for her. I'll speak to the neighbour tomorrow and say that she must tell my sister that she will not do her laundry again.
2. I am going up to see my sister on 28 December, and will probably be returning home with her cat, Molly, who is being fed by the same neighbour. But the neighbour has her own life/family/job and it's not fair to expect her to look after Molly too (who has a litter box, so it's not just a question of putting food down for her). I'll bring Molly home with me, she can stay in my spare room for a few days and I'll introduce her to my girls and then, gradually, to the cat flap. She's used to being outside during the day so the outdoors will not be a new and scary place for her. Molly likes people so being on her own most of the day must be unpleasant for her.
3. I just had a 'heat and eat' Aloo Ki Sabzi from
these people, which I bought in a pound shop the other week. It was absolutely delicious.
