My nose is cold.

I just had chili and now I wish I didn't.

I went home for lunch. Wife and I had been talking about a "nooner," but it did not happen today. We are in general favor of the notion but it may or may not come to pass.

She reheated what she said was some ahi picatta, which I had made last Friday. I bit into it and it turned out to be a piece of tofu, and the memory of me making it part tofu in case daughter wanted it came flooding back. It's sort of a unique feeling when you are expecting fishflesh in your mouth and it's actually soyflesh.

Went to get my colonoscopy results. Everything looks OK, yay! Got Flight of the Conchords dvd in the mail. Sent out holiday cards. Next job application is online, which is good, because going to the post office stresses me out.

Finally getting some editing done, making bread on the work breaks, waiting to be paid for a job I did last week (he's supposed to stop by today, but then he was supposed to stop by last Friday, too). Wanted to make pea soup today (even thawed a smoked pork hock and everything), but forgot to soak the peas until around 10 this morning. Wondering if I can get away with soaking 'em for 4-5 hours instead of overnight.

We had an ice storm today (central Kansas). We walked around the neighborhood surveying the damage (huge tree limbs in the streets, electricity out for most of the day - but back on now, Yay!)... Went out of town for dinner and shopping to escape the doldrums. A good day all-in-all.
