The Temptation of Adam This Josh Ritter song makes me go all water-works. Something about being willing to blow up the world for the love of a girl...
...strikes me as over-the-top hopelessly romantic.

very neat, thanks. reminds me in a number of ways of Soltero's Communist Love Song.

I need to give him a proper chance to impress me, I think. He didn't do it the other night, but he may just be rubbish live.

I have always been partial to this Todd Snider song. . .A bit dated by now, but still fun.

Josh Ritter, or Soltero?

Josh Ritter live seems to depend a large degree on what substances, and how much, he's had. I went to one show where he seemed totally out of it (in, granted, a rather endearingly giggly way) and another where he was really on the ball. Friends who like him have said the same thing.

(Soltero I just adore and will hear nothing bad said against him/them. Hurumph.)

I don't know much about Soltero. I was talking about Mr Ritter.

Maybe he needs to go to the same rehab place Mr Adams went to... because his latest tour has been top notch.

Ha! I was a total dork fangirl when I lived in Boston. I used to go to all their shows, and it got to the point where the various band members would recognize me if we passed each other on the street, which I found thrilling. "The Moment You Said Yes" may still be my favoritest song of all time; I try to listen to it at the end of the day whenever I'm counseling clients, because it somehow blasts all their sadness out of my head and lets me get back to my own life.

I'm actually from Chicago and have always been from Chicago and am something of a freak in the Soltero fan-scape. Tim has been very cool to me in our few interactions over the years. I think I may have saved an otherwise weird and maybe depressing performance in this town from being totally weird and depressing by introducing myself as a big fan, and I got the first and second albums some radio play in the Chicago area while I was a DJ at the college mega-radio-station.

I feel like I broke his heart when I told him I was probably going to law school instead of pursuing a career as a writer (which he supported with an interview, lots of CDs and words).

Incidentally, I'm a writer now. Partly because I feel like I broke so many hearts with the law school announcement. I don't ever want to feel like that again.
