I just called Speaker Pelosi's office to leave a message supporting fixing the birth control pill pricing fuck-up (which I was unable to do because the mailbox was full), and I got a total rush from telling the operator that I'd like to be connected to "Speaker Pelosi's office, please." →[More:]There's a woman! As Speaker of the House! And I can call up her office at midnight local time! How cool is that?!?

I'm pumped up on pro-feminist representative democracy. Oh yes I am. (Don't ruin my buzz, please.)

I'm still chuffed that my birth control costs $50 a month, whereas if I were guy getting ED meds, it'd be covered at the $35 price. Hmmmmm.

as a complete derail (and I'm thankful that BC is free here in the UK, even though I can't take it) - Miko, 'chuffed' in my lingo means 'pleased' and I had no idea it could mean the opposite! Learn something new, etc.

More info on the BCP price hike.

Prices went up by 900% at some clinics, especially low-cost clinics and college clinics. (Way to go on helping prevent abortions and poverty, there, Congress. Sigh.) From what I've read, it was not the intent of the legislation that caused it, but an oversight that can be fixed.
