I got home today all excited. I told Mrs. Doohickie how I found out that due to an odd combination of events, I get an extra two days of floating holiday time between now an the end of the year.

She wasn't impressed. She told me she had a bad day. As lead teacher she was supposed to arrange to have teachers in her department get subs and go to a training session today. Due to a miscommunication, she totally dropped the ball.

But that wasn't even the low point... she also found out one of her students had a fire in her house. While she and 11 other kids, and her mom, got out okay, the student lost her dad and her cousin in the fire. They got everyone else out but perished at the window, just a foot or so from safety.
