Let's get drunk. A slideshow of really excellent photos, dealing with a subject near and dear to many of our hearts (and livers). My favorite photo is #9 (can't link directly), of the young woman in Havana.
Those are great. I mean they are good pictures, the subject's a little close to home for me. I have a photo of me drunk at Christmas about 20 years ago which I'll post nearer the day. 'Tis the season, and all that.
Slightly related story: When I worked in fundraising, we almost secured the donation of a huge collection of photos from a competing agency (i.e., not Magnum, but on that level) that were privately owned. Unfortunately, they donated them elsewhere, but I got the joyous task of going through the CD catalogue to see what was in the collection. I was happy as a very happy thing for days.)
BP, it was. 6 or 7 cds full of decades of amazing & historic photos. I think my boss got kinda annoyed with how long I was taking, but how could you rush through such a collection? Fortunately, I had the legitimate excuse that I had to find the best ones in order to present a case for building a proper archival space for them. :>
I'm all for guys in tutus, tights and white gloves bellying up to the bar, but those 3 guys appeared entirely too reflective and self absorbed to be getting seriously drunk. Artistically snockered, sure. Drunk, no.
Nobody gets a serious hangover while wearing gloves.
