It's a weird weekend in the hood. WTF is going on? It's been a week since the full moon.→[More:]

This morning I was at the end of the driveway and something seemed off. Like one of those spot the difference in these two picture things. Something small. I finally realized what it was.

The downspouts on the back of the neighbors garage were gone. Not vandalized. Gone.

Someone had come in the night and used a screwdriver to remove the screws from the clamps in the brick and from the joint to the gutters. I know some folks will take anything not tied down but these are downspouts AND tied down. WTF?

Then just a bit ago I heard a loud bang out back. I went out to the porch and saw one of the neighbor's daughters running across the yard and some weird lights. I ran out and talked to the daughter.

She had just got into the driveway when an SUV came round the corner and almost hit her. Looking at the marks in the grass the SUV ran off the road and just clipped a power pole and left the passenger side mirror behind. The vehicle then just missed the pole's guy wires then swerved again, hitting a tree and then took out 6 feet of the neighbor's iron fence before missing another tree and then slamming into yet another tree.

By the time I went out the SUV was empty. The neighbor's daughter said a women had jumped out and ran off down the street.

A fire truck came and put out the fire, the cops took a statement from the neighbor's daughter, and the SUV is soon to be towed off.

It's 34F out there. That's cold.
