oh, and be sure to only use 1 1/2 teaspoons of the "Essence" ... in case you just sort of skim the recipe; all those spices at the bottom make 2/3 cup of Essence - or a batch of it, in other words.

I didn't make a whole batch, myself - I just sprinkled the ingredients directly into the salad itself, just kind of judging from the batch recipe how much to put.

Plus I didn't have jalapeños, so I used some green tabasco in it, instead.
