How to Cook Your Life New documentary about a nifty, down-to-earth Zen chef who teaches a spiritual approach to food.
Why was I not surprised to see a shot of the Golden Gate Bridge in this...

I love to buy the ingredients, love to cook, love to eat, but it's a practical, not a spiritual, exercise for me.

On mouse-over, the link looks like "How to Cook Your Elf," which is, of course, quite topical.

Sometimes, that is the only viable alternative when dealing with a recalcitrant house-elf.

"I can't make it taste like McDonald's french fries, no matter what I do". Great quote. Makes me want to go and start making a loaf of bread with that bag of malted flour I have in the cupboard.

Why was my comment deleted? It was not intended as LOL Buddhists. It struck me as odd that the chanting in English depicted in the movie would be about how the food was prepared and not things one associates with the faith: peace, serenity, cycle of life... I don't understand the language(s) of the chanting I have heard before this--is this typical?

brujita, I don't see any deleted comment for you... Maybe you previewed it, then left the page before hitting post?

Can you rewrite it?

I sometimes lose comments that way, especially when I'm going back and forth between one-click MeFi and two-click MeCha.

Incidentally, that alone may be one of the reasons MeCha is slightly more civil...the comment script buys you time to reconsider...;)

It was essentially what I put in the last post.
