SeattleAskMetaChatNewGlassesFilter Circumstances demand I get new spectacles and it's been so long I don't know where to start. So, if anyone here has some suggestions as to eye doctors and/or purveyors of hip to retro hip glasses, I am all eyes.→[More:] But I really don't want to get the new teeny tiny lenses style glasses so much. They are just too damn small. Hell, I would settle for old school wire rims. I don't have a car, so recommended downtown First Hill and Capitol Hill locations are a bonus.

I went with Eyes On Fremont this time around, and was pretty happy with the experience. They have a lot of the teeny tiny rims, it's true, but I was able to find frames I liked online and they were more than happy to order them. They have an instore doctor, Dr. Louie, who is pretty cool, too.

PS - Have you seen/do you have plans to see I'm Not There? I'm very curious about your opinion(s) regarding that film.

Second Eyes on Fremont; I know a lot of people who go there and have been very happy. Me, I'm more northerly, so I have a local eye doc up here.

Have you seen those rimless eye glasses? I've seen more people wearing them, and they look comfortable.

I felt the same way when I was picking up new glasses a few weeks ago. But the smaller -- not super-small, but smaller lenses aren't bad at all. I haven't seen any difference in my day-to-day vision since I started wearing the new ones.

My new glasses are semi-rimless and I love 'em to death.
