Good news everyone! The new straight-to-DVD Futurama DVD is out and it's a must-see for fans.[More:]
All the favourite characters are in there, there's loads of references to the TV programmes, a good story and great gags. If you're a Futurama fan, this is essential viewing. Oh, and the packaging is cool as well. UK bunnies can pick it up from Play USA, which is where I got mine from. Otherwise you'll have to wait until, apparently, February next year for a UK release.

The only slightly weird thing is that Fox is putting this out. Fox being the asshats that cancelled it from TV. Not that they don't get attacked for that within the first few minutes of the film.
How exciting!

Best thing to happen to me this week!

Have you actually seen the whole thing? How? I'm a show-biz-semi-insider and I still have to wait until NEXT Tuesday to buy it... *insane jealousy*

Yep, seen the whole thing! PlayUSA shipped mine a few days ago and it turned up yesterday. I'm in the UK and PlayUSA is, IIRC, based in some tax haven such as the island Jersey. As such, they probably have to pay scant/no attention to American release dates and can just ship things when they arrive.

Is this where I say "bite my shiny metal ass"?

I am deeply anxious to watch this.

I always wonder why they take so long to release things internationally. It just seems to scream `torrent ahoy!'.

There's something in there I can't quite wrap my head around. But hey, Futurama, and just in time for $holiday.

See, this is why I don't understand why it's coming out in the UK in February. People are either going to torrent it or do what I did and buy it online and so reduce the sales figures in the UK. Torrenting will mean they don't get the cool packaging, though - it's one of those covers that changes when you move it from side to side.

I'm 7 minutes into a ~20 minute extra: a full episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad. It's kind of what you expect. Which is "interesting".

Interesting! No, wait--the other thing. Tedious.

OK, actually it is interesting, but I had to work in a quote somehow.

Well, it was a little tedious. There was a commercial break in the middle and an advert for the season one DVD collection at the end. But, basically, it was about 16 minutes of Hypnotoad and 4 minutes of gags.
