Chicken Sausages Aluminum Foil Freezer Time = WTF? So I was cleaning out the freezer tonight and[More:]I've been unwrapping things to see what they are and if they're still good. Nothing too surprising until I unwrapped a couple of sausages and found the innermost layer of aluminum foil had become brittle and powdery. Seriously, there was powdered aluminum all over inside. I'd never seen or heard of this before.

I threw the whole mess out, of course, but I wondered if anyone's ever seen this before. A cursory googling didn't show me anything.
Oh dear, I see that (plus) signs don't make it through to the post. It should have read:
Chicken Sausages (plus) Aluminum Foil (plus) Freezer (plus) Time = WTF?

One time I did this and found the dead aquarium fish my husband hadn't gotten around to burying.

Could be because it came in contact with the food. I've noticed that if I leave a pan wrapped in foil in the fridge, then set something on top of it, the foil will "dissolve" a bit (not sure this is the right word) and will "melt" (also not the right word) into the food.

Ha! That's great.

I have come across 1 mystery 'food' that I don't recognize at all. I'm thawing it to see what it is. It looks kind of like tiny pasta and cottage cheese. But I can't imagine anyone freezing such a thing.

Food safety info usually recommends wrapping stuff in plastic before wrapping in foil...this may be one reason why,

Hmmm, never heard that before. It might be nice if it said that on the aluminum foil box! I'll have to look into that.

Any remedy for probable spider bites? || Ladies and germs, may I introduce a friend of mine, and a new bunny.
