MeCha Decorating Tip #27 Some small arms fire does wonders for the "look" of your blinds.[More:]

And the hard-to-get pattern of striations on your ceiling.

Just be sure to clean up the slugs when finished with decorating, lest they foul up your vacuum cleaner.

(over the weekend, someone fired into a classroom at one of my schools. fortunately the teacher came in sunday and discovered this.)
Damn. The only good thing I can think of to say is at least it was on the weekend. So are the kids totally freaked out?

Well I got the call, which I am not supposed to get, but the principal thought to call me. I took a shot at getting it all fixed yesterday, but the glitch was that there is some asbestos caulking on the windows, so this has to be done under some controls. So, if we could not fix the bullet holes in the windows, the other stuff could wait for today also.

The school had a "spare" room, so some custodians got good overtime, moving all the stuff into the spare room.

I suspect that some kids will be very excited about this, and some will be disturbed. The principal is freaked and treating this very seriously, and our PR people are "on it," meaning letters will go out, we'll be ready for the media, etc.

All the evidence will be gone by the end of today.

BTW, from the pictures, some of the hunting types here think it was probably one blast of OOO buckshot. Which would account for maybe neighbors dismissing one bang, rather than 16 or 17 bangs.

Holy cow, that's really crazy.

Was it in a middle school or a high school?

Elementary. 4th grade classroom.

danf, thank god it wasn't during school hours. How bizarre and scary.

Yikes. At least it's better than walking in to it Monday morning, but still. How unnerving.

The hard part will be figuring out if it is a prank or a warning. Too bad criminal profiling is a crock.

I'm sorry, danf, but what do you do? Are you a maintenance guy for a school district?

Anyway, that's purdy scary. Mrs. Dooh works in a school where, if that happened, I wouldn't be surprised. The only reason I don't worry about her safety is that she is well-liked. Mostly.
