Paging jonmc... to the headbangers section, please. And, of course, anyone else that needs their head flexed.....[More:]
Not sure if you've got these, so I'd thought I'd throw them up here for ya.
Raven, giving Maiden a run for their money, from the 1982 album "Wiped Out" - Bring the Hammer Down and Read All About It.
Also, here's Chelsea doing some straight-forward British punk from their 1982 album "Evacuate" - Evacuate and How Do You Know. Not sure if you've heard them, but I was thinking on the way home on the bus that maybe they'd be up your alley.
All mp3's are rips from my vinyl collection, minimised the pops, boosted the volume and ripped at 192kbps.
Raven! Nice. I have a bunch of Raven (including the Live At The Inferno double LP). I was always stunned that they didn't become internationally huge like Miaden & Priest, especially since they are even more clearly a predeccessor of the Metallica/Anthrax/Slayer thrash legions. (although 'Seek & Destroy' and 'All For one' are their best songs.

Yeah, it's like they fell through the cracks somewhere. Bizarre, and a shame - they should've been bigger in North America than they were. Seems that, according to Wikipedia, they're still punching it out as for 2006. I never had "All For One" - had to rely on a friend of mine for that one.
Good logo - seems them Motorhead boys really started something. heh.

Actually, it's funny - Chelsea have just put out a new album too, and they're still keeping on, and getting good reviews. Rock endures.

Without Wacko, is it really Raven?

(the logo seems to have been replaced by a place holder.)

Hey, you know as well as I, metal drummers have a tendency to explode for no reason. "You know, several, you know, dozens of people spontaneously combust each year. It's just not really widely reported."

(Pic still works for me...)

The 'no life till metal' is not what I linked. I linked to the 'lightning bolt' raven logo.

Maybe it exploded?

Of course, all of this pales in comparison to the blazing track by the Peerless Four, entitled I'm A Soldier (In the Army of the Lord).

Tried to listen to a track, but it won't play to those outside the US. Having a look at them, I'm pretty confident in inferring they don't have a double-kick going on, let alone a chorus pedal so they're not metal: Motorhead'd have 'em for breakfast.

yeh, whatever. The Peerless Four could double-kick your scrawny Canuckistani ass.

Right - a four-on-one fight. *Nice*. Losers. Especially that it'd take four of them to beat me, and I really am scrawny!

No, son.

It would only take one to do that.

The other three would harmonize over your broken spine.

Waitasec - aren't they from the '40s? They be dead now. I could totally kick their skeletal asses. "Hard to harmonise without vocal cords, ain't it!" *crunch*
