A friend of mine has two mastiffs and they are exactly like that, except after the first thirty seconds they're likely to get up and bring the begging to you in the form of "please pet me" body slams.

my family had mastiffs all while i was growing up, i love them, they're the best dogs ever. far too adorable when they put their head on your lap and look up at you or knock you over leaning against your legs looking for their "body slams". damn... now i want one too.

My building does not allow pets.

Our largest one was over 200 lbs.

I saw an adorable brindle one on the street the other day. She was drooling all over the place and very much made me miss our childhood dogs.

yeah but when they put their heads in your lap your pants get soaked. Ew!

They are really sweet, though. My niece used to crawl all over them- their heads even, and step on their jowls, and all they ever did was sigh.

They had an unfortunate habit of instantly finding and sleeping on any pile of clean laundry. You'd think they were fast asleep on the floor and then you'd turn around and there they'd be on the bed on the clean laundry.

Super sweet dogs. Super big. And if they decide for some reason that you're in danger, they're too big to control. The good news is that their version of attack is to knock the person down and then sit on them. It doesn't happen too often, but still- it's not cool, and it's really scary.

But yeah, the dogs are cute.

Aww, what big sweet pups! But man, I checked out their website and the largest male they have (Wyatt) is 250 pounds. I'm glad I don't have to clean up his poop.
