I love Donny Darko but Southland Tales is not sounding like a winner. I hope I am wrong.

It looks a little to me like one of those projects where someone in Hollywood is trying to impress other people in Hollywood.

This movie has been in the pipes forever. . .It was shot, like, 3 years ago, I think.

I am still looking forward to it, if for no other reason than to see SMG in a non-horror role (she's a celebrity hooker of some kind).

The trailer looks like a mess, but also lots of fun. I'll probably go see it even if it is a mess. Certain directors (Jarmusch, Anderson, Hartley, Coen Bros), I even enjoy their weaker movies, just because I like being exposed to their vision. I think I'll feel similarly about this one.
