My company introduced a "personal pages" addition to our "smart filter" blocking crapola at the end of last week. No Flickr, no deli.cio.us, ma.gnolia, Wikipedia (??!) amongst others but still, weirdly, Facebook! It was really pissing me off - I can live without some of the others, but not my social bookmarks and Wikipedia. Luckily I've been allowed to request that category be removed from my profile so, by the end of the week, I'll be able to actually work. And look at the photo Friday threads!

Hermth- I will gladly save and submit every front page thread and green and gray one for you hourly in triplicate.

Yeah, it's really annoying - I keep loads of handy URLs in ma.gnolia, but also have lots of deli.cio.us (God, I hate typing that - I can never remember where the dots go) usage as well. It's really unhelpful and I don't see how that would fall under the title "personal page" where something like my Facebook account wouldn't. It's almost like they dare not touch Facebook because they want to be seen as an employer that trusts its employees, but will then block all manner of other things. Sheesh.
