The neighborhood kids were thrilled! -- Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek sat on a lawn chair in his driveway Halloween night, greeting trick-or-treaters. He signed autographs while his 7-year old daughter handed out Butterfinger candy bars.
Cute story!

That's great. I live in an area where a fair few Premiership footballers live. Some of them act all precious (yes, D*m*t*r B*rb*t**, I'm talking about you, driving round these little streets in a fricking huge Hummer with blacked-out windows, you prick), but some of them are very approachable, especially with kids.

Children remember these things.

Shouldn't he have handed out Baby Ruths? (I know the controversy; I believe they did it to avoid paying him.)
