Three point update! →[More:]

1) I am sorting molecular sieves.

2) I really really like the way felt-tip pens write and how the ink flow feels and how they make my handwriting all neat and pretty with exactly proportioned serifs and curlicues and no blotty drips. But I cannot write with one for more than a nanosecond without mashing the tip, no matter how careful I am. WTF?!

3) The instant I got into work this morning, I spilled coffee on my favourite pants and it's making me feel a tad shouty. but not shouty enough for a shouting thread. :/

So in the debit column I have coffee stains and a smashed pen, on the plus side, I am wearing my favourite pants and jotting tidy little notes whilst I progress with the molecular sieve-sorting

1. I'm terrified that I'm going to get sick before the weekend's Big Party in SC even though I feel fine. I recognize that this is nuts. Still, every time I'm really looking forward to something it seems like I don't get to do it, so. And my boss is home today really sick.

3. Nobody at speed dating wanted to date me, which makes me sad, which is stupid given that there was nobody at speed dating who I wanted to date either.

Even though I already have lots of boots, I just bought another pair. My only defence is that I got them on ebay for like a zillionth of their normal price, which otherwise would have been exorbitant, because they're Fluevogs. Is that all right?
I had a flu shot on Monday for the first time ever. Oddly, my arm is still a little achey.
Moments ago, a handsome co-worker stopped by my desk and gave me a packet of dulse.

1. Management seems to have taken mushrooms or are hearing voices from god as they are making no sense at all.

2. My son still does not have a job.

3. Hopefully, I'll have time to run over to the little brewery in the east-end and pick up a couple of gallons of Big Hop Ale tonight. (They're only open on Thursdays so I never managed to get over there.)

1: Trying to find a firewire cable to back up my Mac in preparation for Leopard installation tomorrow. Not having much luck, getting annoyed
2: Tired of, frustrated at and annoyed with people in my company's IT department make the most asshatted, half-baked ideas, and trumpet them as great.

1. Today I chopped canned chipotle peppers and blended them into a sauce of tomatoes, herbs, spices, garlic and other stuff. After I made the sauce I was feeling hungry and put my finger in a jar of peanut butter. Do not chop chipotle peppers and stick your fingers in your mouth. It's a dumb move.

2. Adding to my very crafty week, I started two Halloween costumes last night and finished today. My oldest is a beekeeper, my youngest, a bee. A fierce bee. They are so cute!

3. I need something laminated in a hurry. I wonder how long those Office Depot places take.

1. I also like a felt-tip pen. Lately I've been using one of those keychain mini Sharpies as my pocket pen, and I love it. I only wish they made an extra-fine-point.

2. Want to have dinner w/crush and yg, especially because Rise sounds pretty nice.

3. Beekeeper and bee? That sounds really, really cute.

Lori, the bee/beekeeper costumes remind me of a mom/kid combo I saw last year. The kid -- probably a 4-year-old boy -- was dressed as a fire hydrant. The mom was a burning building. And their little dog was wearing a fireman's hat. It was pretty awesome.

That is awesome, mudpuppie! I will have to steal this idea. A fire hydrant is way cooler than a fireman. I wanted one of the kids to be Alien Abduction. I have a couple Halloween parties and trick or treating. If I'm feeling motivated I might make this.

1. My iPod appears to be beyond reviving. I'm thinking of buying a new one.

2. I can't buy a new one until I upgrade my OS from 10.2.8 to at least 10.3.

3. This makes me nervous. Also, I am sorry to admit that I am allergic to paying for software.

1. I was depressed earlier today about my hair, but after I washed it and dealt with it, it doesn't look so bad.
2. I went to Costco tonight and saw the biggest jar of parmesan cheese EVER. It made me so happy. It also made me happy that I got a pinata full of candy for only $10.
2a. I found out at Costco that my new shoes hurt my feet. BOOOO!

1. TicketBastard wants to charge me $22 for the priveldge of ordering and printing out (!) a pair of $22 Hold Steady tickets. They can fuck off and die - I'll buy 'em at the door.

2. The projected one-week remodeling of our bathroom will be finishing up week number three tomorrow. The plumber was supposed to show up at noon today. Then he was gonna be there at 2:30. When I finally had to leave for work at 3, he still hadn't made it.

3. Big corporate wing-ding at work tonight, with all the attendant BS that entails.

1. I am feeling overwhelmed at work and I think this is how it's going to be for the next month or two.

2. I have decided I really don't like our new work environment - it's too open and I consequently find it difficult to focus because conversations around me can be distracting - hence I find myself bringing work home.

3. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday because that means the weekend is near...I can sleep in and veg for a day and then spend Sunday working some more - assuming I don't get distracted and procrastinate the day away.

3. My Drifter is in the shop. The camshaft intake and exhaust lobes are shot. I'm getting new brakes and a new rear tire as well. $$KA-CHING$$!!

octothorpe if it makes you feel any better, those molecular sieves i referenced above? well my dear bunny those bastards didn't just win, they kicked my arse old-skool neanderthal style. the pile of papers and files that they lived in, that was my determined goal to get cleared out today? nosirree, that sonofabitch grew and flourished and had wild file sex and made little inbred baby piles that spread and populated across the vast fertile tracts of desk-space that once was my own.

i returned @ 5.15 from a much-needed coffee run to see the database administrator I've been working with to clean up the computer end of this mess, with his head in his hands, staring at an open file in silent disbelief, looking like he was literally about to yank his hair out in clumps. yessirree, that's just how good it was.

*sigh* and now it's past midnight and i'm drunk and gotta deal with it all again tomorrow.

and yes, there's still decent odds on the lab catching fire, too, the way things have been going. so yea, buddy. raise one for me.
