What songs released in 2007 annoyed you? I don't mean songs that were overplayed or that you heard everywhere. I'm talking about songs that make you want to turn in your "i'm a human being" card.
Lean Like A Cholo.

OMG, thank you for alerting me to the existence of this song.

I was reading up on the biggest songs of the year, and I have no idea what any of them are. I know that last one, but that's only because of you guys.

"This Is Why I'm Hot" MIMS
"Glamorous" Fergie featuring Ludacris
"Don't Matter" Akon
"Give It to Me" Timbaland featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake

"Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" T-Pain featuring Yung Joc
"Makes Me Wonder" Maroon 5

Holy shit, birdherder...thank you...THANK YOU.

That song has given me a new tagline. That's right. I'm kkokkodalk, and I'm brown and I get down.

Here's a song from 2007 that makes me happy to be alive:

Trunk Boiz - Scraper Bike

omg box, the 'scraper bike' song made SO many rounds on the Denver Cruise... we pretty much played it every Wednesday :)

I love it. There's also the Cool Kids song 'Black Mags,' kinda along similar lines, but not nearly as good.

Since you mention it, do you have any good ideas about playing music while on a ride? One of my buddies has a boombox bungee-corded to a rear rack, but there's got to be a better way.

I really like "Hey There Delilah" but "Lean Like a Cholo" makes me want to smash things.

I know only two of those, chuck: Girlfriend and Big Girls Don't Cry. I actually like Fergie's song, dunno if that's kosher or not. *shrug* I know she's the lead for Blackeyed Peas but I doubt I'd know any of their songs if I heard them.

box: the easiest way is to rig up a t00nz trailer. take any bob or baby/kiddie trailer, add a 12V battery + speakers, and wire it to an ipod. I don't have any more technical info than that @ the mo, but if need b I could possibly beg an schematic from any one of the half dozen individuals who have run various t00nz trailers on the DC.

the catch is, if you run a flipflop hub, do NOT attempt to hitch a trailer to the rear chainstay, as the flip cog on the nondrive side does NOT clear the coupling... don't ask me how I discovered this btw... chalk it up to Stupid Fixed Gear Tricks™
posted by lonefrontranger 19 October | 19:55
I can handle the electronic technical part without any trouble--I think it might've just been the trailer part that was escaping me. Thanks, lfr!

Reggaeton, in general.

I'm going to have to go with any singles released by Avril, Britney, Paris or any other lame ass ho.
posted by SassHat 20 October | 01:46
I'm so damn glad I've never heard anything on that list.

And Yung Joc sounds like some weirdass yoga thing. Perhaps what you'd need to do after a brief, sordid night of being Shawty Snapped? (or is it that a cereal?)

I don't think I even understand that list.

Also "Rehab"...is that yowling supposed to singing?

Can someone translate "this is why I'm hot" into proper English....and yes, I HAVE been singing my version around NYC as I add stanzas. THUGGIST!
posted by brujita 20 October | 15:51
Have you heard the 'rock' version of 'This Is Why I'm Hot'? (Here's a YouTube clip w/the Teletubbies in it.) Appalling. The only thing worse than rockers who try to rap is rappers who try to rock.
posted by box 20 October | 16:14
Not until you posted that clip...how about a Joy Division/Teletubbies mashup? ;-P
