Fast, Quality, Cheap... We all know those we can only have 2 of those 3 at any given time, but what are other examples of the "you can only have 2 of the three at a time" situation?
In bike components, it's light, durable and cheap.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory.

In meal-planning, you often hear that you can have "Quick, healthy, and delicious: pick two!" (I disagree, but that's neither here nor there.)

Straight men who are neat, thin, and single. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

In college, our unofficial school motto was "Sleep, Study, Socialize: Pick Two". But, by the end of my senior year, we had quickly edited that to "pick 1.5".

You can have a great relationship, a great job, and a great apartment... But you can't have all three at the same time.

I found one! Of course, he's not single anymore ;-)

I feel like there must be one for work, like- you can have money, respect and responsibility, but not all at the same time.... (hmm, that doesn't seem like exactly it.... any thoughts?)

By the time I got to grad school it was "study, study or study: pick 1". God I hated grad school.

When buying shoes, or even just clothes in general:

Comfortable
Looks Good
Affordable

And don't even ask if they carry it in your size!

OMG shoes, yes! I did shoe shopping last night, and it's true- you get two out of three: comfort, looks, price.

I'm always hyper-aware that cheap clothing is usually produced in sweatshops :-(

I want you
I need you
But there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you

But don't feel sad, cuz two out of three ain't bad

In one of the Tales of the City books Armistead Maupin said you can have a hot boyfriend, a hot apartment, or a hot job, but not all three at the same time. This is known as Mona's Law. Perhaps not exactly what you were looking for, though.
