"Her name is pogo and she has 3 legs." [More:] "I plan to make her a prosthesis at work... And just a FYI- I am a registered prostetic tech and just did my orthotic fitter's training course so I can fit braces."

Awwwwwwhhh! How cutez!
Awwww. My neighbour has a black cat who has a missing back leg (car accident). He can run like the wind and jump the highest fence but when he walks slowly he looks like the most wretched crippled creature you've ever seen.

I'd post about how sad this is, but there's a THREE-LEGGED CAT in my lap making it hard to type.

Sadder still is that there's a Ford Escort Owners' Association.

Yes, I own an Escort.

I bet she'll love all the attention you're giving her as you try to make something that works.

Course, although she'll do OK without the prosthetic - it will be interesting to see how well it works. Animals can be the most difficult clients since we cannot understand exactly what they are saying. "It's too snug right here..." And, it's hard to make them understand that we're trying to do something to help!

Seeing her makes me miss my own black kitty...give her lots of kitty kisses for me!

Note that I am not the adopter; that was just something I tripped across on a car forum I post to.

And hangashore: if your Escort overheats, you can find out how to repair it for less than $10. That's definitely *not* sad.

... and thereby double its value - cool! Seriously, no complaints here about the 'Scort - it's a '95, bought it used in '98, and it really hasn't cost me much at all (I've probably spent more on my tripod kitty over the past five or six years). Hasn't let me down in anything from -40 to (almost) +40°C weather. Mind you, it sits in the garage most of the time (I'm mostly a bike/bus commuter) and hasn't even cracked the 110,000 km barrier. Its predecessor was a '79 T-Bird (I hate car shopping), so I'll be happy if I can keep this one going until 2015 or so.
