13 October 2007

It's Saturday night and I'm a touch drunk on Wildass.... [More:]Wildass Red 2004 to be more precise. How's your Saturday night?
This morning my entire jaw started to throb with pain and I don't have any painkillers in the medicine cabinet so I actually just had a shot of tequila but it didn't really help so I need to go to the store and get some ibuprofen. I think I may need another root canal, and I'm dreading it. I've had four already. My teeth don't have enough enamel so no matter what I do, every time I visit the dentist I always need more work done... either a new filling or repairing an aged one. I'm the only person in my immediate family who doesn't have any dental implants, it's an unfortunate hereditary thing. I don't have a single tooth without a filling, and it sucks. I have such a phobia about it and I can tell by the level of pain that this is going to be expensive and supremely unpleasant.

MAN this HURTS. I think I'm going to go hang out with a friend to get my mind off of it.

eh. It's a couch-sitting god-the-internet-is-boring getting-ready-to-feel-sorry-for-myself Saturday night. But I have brunch plans tomorrow. That should be fun.

I'm doing laundry. Try very hard not to be jealous.

ml, call your oral surgeon/dentist now and get started on the antibiotics (hopefully you have a 24 hour drug store near you) so that the throbbing goes away asap. It's soul-crushing, that relentless throbbing pain.

(nine root canals here)

Oh man! I could have done my laundry! I guess I still could. The machines are available until 2am.

Y'all could also come to IRC, you know.

I'm looking at you, crush.

Teeth suck.

A little hockey will take care of that for you right quick.

Miss Lynster, ouch. I'm sorry about your tooth troubles. I hope your ears have calmed down since you're dealing with teeth at the moment.

It's Sunday and I am doing nothing so far. I need to clean this hell hole I'm living in if it's the last thing I do.

I've inherited good teeth. I've never had a root canal and I haven't had a cavitity since I was 10 years old. I do have a myriad of other inherited difficulties such as cellulite, varicosed veins, colon problems, and mental problems. :)

Geez sounds like I'm a mess, huh? Yeah, the ear thing is pretty constant and it's been going on since May 6, 2006 so I ignore it as best I can whenever possible. This tooth pain is new though, and hard to ignore. It's bad. I don't have a dentist I like up here so I got a reference for one and left a message on their emergency line. So hopefully I'll get in there tomorrow.

I envy you, Lori. I have a friend who had never been to a dentist at 35 and I convinced him to go because I was having so many dental problems and I kept saying I didn't want him to go through the same kind of hellacious dental work due to neglecting his teeth. So he went... and the guy not only didn't have a single cavity, but his dentist said he had the most perfect teeth he had ever seen. I WANTED TO KILL HIM when he told me that. SO not fair.

I had braces for 7 years and that did a lot of damage to the enamel on my teeth as well. I can't eat popsicles & stuff because the dye goes straight to my teeth (learned that lesson the hard way while eating a popsicle at lunch in high school.) I've had a bunch of root canals and all sorts of fillings and crowns and whatnot. And I've had my roots planed twice & I know it needs to be done again. That hurts. Because I have no enamel my teeth are sensitive so I had to have a quadrant of my mouth done at a time due to pain.

Moral of the story, I'm really not looking forward to dealing with this, but at least I'm not working this week so I have free time to get to the appointments and stuff without hassle. I'm just hoping they aren't cost prohibitive. And no matter how much it is I've decided to pay extra for any and all painkillers available. I just don't want to feel this.

BTW, one good thing about the ear injury... it doesn't hurt. I don't feel anything other than when I'm having to have the occasional surgical stuff done. Mainly, it's just annoying to hear noise all the time.

First volunteer shift at recycling today. Now I have a dream. || IRC, with whiskey and cookies.
