Gmail Notifier woes — hope me! I'm trying to make Gmail Notifier run through a https using these instructions, but nothing secret or special is happening. I keep getting the same old preferences box. I'm on a Mac. What am I doing wrong?
You're sure you're holding down the correct keys when you select "Preferences..." from the Gmail Notifier menu?

I'm not a Mac app developer, so this might not work, but in Home/Library/Preferences there should be a file called "com.google.GmailNotifier.plist". If this file opens in OmniOutliner, you should be able to insert a row that has "SecureAlways" in the Key column and "1" in the Value column, then save the file, and restart Google Notifier. Plist files are tricky though. I know that Xcode, the suite of tools for software development that comes on the Mac OS X install disc, has a full-fledged plist editor, but I've never used it.
