Back in the USA (some photos inside) [More:]Hey y'all. I had a great time in the UK. Here are some photos (in the middle of the set of all of 'em), much like essexjan's from earlier this week, of us eating and drinking. And, ahem, trying to steal Wilder's jacket.

Thanks to everyone I met for being supercool and awesome.
I, too, would like Wilder's coat. That's some classy outerwear.

Glad you had a good time, pode. Welcome home!

Ooohhh, gaspode! Did you partake of the baths? I'd like to do a purely literary UK trip within the next few years.

Did you stay in London the whole time?

look through the photos, cd, there's pics of Bath, and Battle Abbey. I've lived in the UK for 29 years and have never been to Bath, must put this right soon.

altolinguistic - I did just that after I posted, and yeah, I did notice the Bath images. Bath is pretty close by, but we never go either. I've been there, but it was some years ago.

Yup, cd, we did a little visiting out of London. A big part of our trip was visiting friends and family though, and as they all live in London we didn't stray far. Great time though, and with the exception of one day the weather was perfect. Who'd have thought?

Did you drive? Not many people have the guts to try it on the first trip. It's very disconcerting.

:-) I love the weather here. I don't know what people are on about, usually. The only really foul weather I've seen flooded half the country (July). Be thankful you missed that.

It was lovely to see you, and I'm looking forward to meeting up again soon when I'm in NYC.

That coat looks better on you than me. I'll do my best to nick it for you before my trip.
