I saw that and thought "Martha Raye and Mark Harris."

Just after High School we were cruising around with some friends, including one guy who was bass player in a nationally known band, and he insisted we go to a certain bar because he said he wanted to go out with the waitress. We got there, and he pointed her out, all the way on the other side, in the dark and through all the smoke. She was a trim blond with a big smile. When she finally came over she was well over 70, and he was serious. It was a "she musta been hot in her day" thing for the rest of us, but as I said he was truly serious. I don't know if anything came of it, but I did respect his imagination for conceiving of this desire.
