Mac vs. Windows: QuarkExpress - how different are they? I have a short-term opportunity involving magazine layout in a Mac environment. I've only ever worked with the Windows version of Quark; how different is the Mac version?
nevermind. I didn't get the offer due to my lack of Mac skillz.

Jebus!? How dumb is that? Quark is evil in any OS and that's that. ;P

(disclaimer: currently back on a Quark only gig after having switch over to InDesign back in 2001. It turns out going back is just like riding a bike, but now I keep doing the wrong keyboardcommands when I come home and work in Indesign, which would be amusing if it wasn't so freaking annoying.)

I really don't see why you the OS tripped you up when you know the program. They're not that different and you'd probably be mac-fluent in two weeks.

The program isn't that different from platform to platform. The keyboard command changes (control key vs. command key) will mess with your mind, but you should be able to get those figured out pretty quickly. If you know how to basically navigate through a Mac, you should be set. If you've got a friend with a Mac who would let you play with it for a couple of hours you should be able to figure out the differences pretty quickly. It's much easier to go from PC to Mac than the other way around. At least as a basic user.
