The Sound of my Own Voice and Other Noises: Severn Darden Live at the Second City, 1961 (senduit link, 43.4 MB). When I posted this story from the comic Wasteland, I noted that it was based on a monologue by Severn Darden. Well thanks to eBay, a rarely used turntable, and Audacity, here is a whole album of comedy pieces by Darden. [More:] I think Oedipus (track 4), which poses the question of how Oedipus would have acted if he had known everything that was going to happen to him in advance, is my favorite. Enjoy!
Thanks! I just bought something like sixteen issues of "Wasteland" for a quarter apiece at a comics convention. That "American Splendor" parody is really spot-on.
