One-point status update: My
divorce is final!
→[More:]
The judge had stressed in the hearing that if I didn't get any paperwork from the courts in six weeks, then there was Something wrong, and I would need to physically go to the courthouse (360 miles north in Fairbanks) to find out what I needed to do.
The six-week mark was fast approaching (was today, actually), and I was starting to freak out that the judge had denied everything. I made plans for a long weekend to drive north and check in with the courthouse, but I got the paperwork in the mail Monday and now I don't have to!
I'm still going to drive north this weekend to see a bunch of friends I left in Fairbanks and haven't seen in a year (really I just want to go to the hot springs), but I will be doing it a single woman with my maiden name (aside: everyone at work today saw my name change and immediately asked if I had gotten married.)
