The BF sent flowers to me at work! Tulips! The card reads: Just to cheer you up before I make you cry with my sniping ability :) Yes, I got flowers for the release of Halo 3. Are we nerds or what?
I love it. And tulips, cool. Those aren't easy to come by in September.

Oh that's awesome. I love getting flowers.

He always sends tulips. They're so much better than roses IMO. I guess that's why he sends them. This also means that I'm going to go home and practice lots before he gets home so I can snipe him.

That's really sweet. But I'm not a flower kind of woman. I mean, I like flowers, sometimes I buy them for myself (from the supermarket), but I'm not particularly into romantic gestures. Perhaps because on the rare occasion my ex-husband ever bought me flowers it was because he'd seriously messed up and thought that a bunch of chrysanthemums would distract me from finding out about his latest shenanigans.

Ok that is so cute. I want to find a girl who I can play video games with. Guitar Hero does not count.

Awwwww. That's so sweet, and I agree that tulips outrank roses by, like, a whole bunch. They're my very nearly my favorite flower.

My favorite flower has a short growing season, so I buy myself a bunch or two every late spring. The Fella knows they're not readily available most of the year, but he wants to remember them for the following spring, so every so often out of the blue he'll look up at me, a question on his face, and say "... ranunculus?"

Yes! Ranunculus! Awwwww...

Why not?

If Guitar Hero doesn't count, I imagine that DDR doesn't count either. But what about Wario Ware or Mario Party? Animal Crossing? The Sims? Madden? Halo? Where, and why, do you draw the line?

Not why, how.

DDR does not count. Wario Ware, Mario Party, Animal Crossing, and Madden count I guess. The Sims does not (single player, dude).

I don't know where and why the line is drawn but it's somewhere after FPS games and because I say so.

How? With a thumbstick or a wiimote I guess.

Very sweet, youngergirl. The only time I recieved flowers at work, I left them on the hood of my car by mistake and took off. My roses and baby's breath never made it home.

I want to find a guy who I can play the upcoming Trauma Center: New Blood game with (multiplayer operations!). MuddDude plays Trauma Center: Second Opinion tolerably well, but he just can't match my speed and accuracy.

I am so that girl! Like when the clerk at the video game store was shocked to find out I was buying Call of Cthulhu for myself and not the BF. I just get called out all the time for liking non-girly games in addition to the girly ones.

The biggest thing for me and the BF when it comes to video games is that we both enjoy all kinds - he and I could play something together or just watch each other play, no matter what game it is. We've worked together on everything from Paper Mario or Rayman to Gears of War or Silent Hill. I sometimes whomp him in Dr. Mario, he whomps me in Command and Conquer all the damn time.

I just look at our mutual enjoyment of video games as a chance to spend time together. I never wanted to be the girl that sat around and pouted when her guy is playing games - I always wanted to be the girl that sniped her guy in the face.

Ok, so you want a girl that will play video games, BUT NOT some of the funnest ones??? You are mean. Tehehe. At least you didn't rule out Mario Kart (I totally snagged my first ever boyfriend D.J., at 14, playing Mario Kart).

Video game designers aren't always good at balancing luck and skill. It's a drag, because that balance is, in my view, a huge part of what makes up a fun multiplayer game.

That's one of my favorite things about Mario Kart, and why I also like party games--there's enough of an element of chance there that even a total novice will win sometimes. You can't really say that about Halo.
