Weekend in PDX!! →[More:]Bunny and I just got back from Portland. We stayed at the Jupiter Hotel/Doug Fir Lounge...quite possibly the hippest place in the NW.
Low was checking in at the same time we were, they played on Friday and Saturday night.
We saw Built to Spill, Camper Van Beethoven and The Delusions on Friday night at the Crystal Ballroom. Then went back to the Hotel for a late dinner.
On Saturday, we got up and went to inquire about tickets for Low's evening show and Built To Spill were in the lobby! We went downtown and ate at Jake's Famous Crawfish, then went to Powell's Books. We passed Mimi Parker on the street.
$83 later, we got in the car and drove around E Portland, checking out the surrounding neighborhoods.
We went back to the Hotel in time for the "Fir Fest." They had bands and some food and craft booths.
We had some drinks and hung out. Corin Tucker from Slater-Kinney was there and Alan Sparhawk was walking around.
I got tickets and we chilled in the room, then went down to watch Low...
Awesome show.
There was a Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday morning downtown.
We stopped by Voodoo Donut and then headed home.
