Mecha Carnivores: We have just returned from Peter Luger(photos), and all I have to say is: you must eat here before you die. Best steak and bacon ever. I am approaching meat paralysis right now. and contrary to what you may have heard, the service was excellent. Yumm.

Sounds yummers. I am at my parents' house in Florida, and there is nothing to eat in this house. Ok, not "nothing", but I don't really consider cinnamon pop-tarts and taco shells to be a good dinner.

Everything looks delicious, from beginning to end. I'll definitely put it on my list when I go to NYC. What a nice night and meal.

Once I ate at McDonald's on my anniversary, through the drive thru no less. Our second child was just a baby and were frazzled. We were lucky to have a hamburger thrown at us.

I agree that Peter Luger's probably the beat steak in NYC ; for sentimental and family reasons I prefer Smith and Wollenski's, but Luger's better.

(and giovanni, why the red sox hat? did you covert?)

Blasphemer. That's a Brooklyn Dodgers hat.

(I haven't been to S&W's, but today's steak was easily the best I've ever had. The bacon (or pork belly or whatever it actually was) was excellent, too. We also had jumbo shrimp cocktail. If I could've smoked a cigar, I would've felt like one of the Rat Pack.)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The only steak place I've been to in NYC is Spark's. It was ok, but I wouldn't say it was outstanding. It was on someone else's nickel, which was good. The atmosphere at Peter Luger's looks way more comfy.
