Happy Anniversary to Pips & Me! Yes, it was one year ago today that we kited off to Vegas with a motley crew of companions and tied the knot. And what a year it's been! I started the day by sleeping late, now I'm sipping my java, and pips is watching her talking heads on Meet The Press. Later we're gonna go get a big fat hairy steak. Hooray for mairrage!

You are eating at Peter Luger's. I am so insanely jealous. That's the best steak on the planet -- when I was in NYC in the 80s I ate there exactly twice, and both times the steaks were crazy good. Porterhouse, steak fries, creamed spinach, and a hot fudge sundae FTW!

There's a good chance you'll get insulted by your waiter, too, which is always fun. And I love the fact that they don't take credit cards -- that's my dream restaurant (from an ownership perspective), right there. But if you're a wino, bring your own and submit to the rape of the corkage fee, because their list sucked in the 80s and, judging from the NY Times article, still does.

Happy anniversary, you crazy kids! That was indeed a wonderful trip, and I still have the zippo from the night we took over the jukebox at the Double Down saloon. My only regret is that we didn't have time for the bridal party trip to the shooting range. Hugs to you both.
