The BF has a fever of 102.6F! What to do?!!? He's VERY warm to the touch, no other symptoms except mild body aches and chills. I'm worried!
I mean that's high for an adult of almost 30, right?

I am not a doctor. He should definitely see one, though. In the interim, you could try giving him some aspirin with plenty of water. Here's what the NIH says, although it seems geared toward pediatric patients.

Here's a little more info, the gist of which is: don't worry. Also, it might be best to let the fever run it's course. If his temp is still elevated on Monday, go see a doctor.

Last time he had a fever (103F for a few days), I made him see a doctor and they took a strep test... nothing. So he's skeptical about seeing a doctor. I keep trying to take his blanket away, but he feels cold and won't let me. Waa!

Tell him he's better off feeling a little cool than cooking his brain. :)

Let him have his blankie, and do you have any Tylenol?

No, I gave him asprin instead. He says he loves you ehtylene - because you want him to have his blankie. He's eating soup!

Cool cloth on the forehead, ice packs on the wrists and plenty of fluids should help. Over 103 is bad.

Keep fluids handy and make sure he doesn't stop sweating. Maybe he'd like to take a shower unless he just wants rest. If it doesn't break by morning or goes up, get thee to a doctor, especially if anything gets sore or starts swelling.

The doctor is for the getting of antibiotics, because we don't want his brain to cook at high temperatures for days, and recurring fevers is weird enough to get checked out properly if it's covered.
Or he could rest up and eat soup during the bug fight.
Bug fight!
Now, since House has taught us that doctors will only go to lengths to figure out what's wrong only for their own sadistic curiosity, it's good to figure out what you can.

i am covered with lint and plan to rinse off, myself.
Then we will all sleep with our blankies and take of the analgesics every four hours.

Leave him his blankie. Whenever I ran high fevers as a kid (and boy did I ever) I always felt freezing--shivering, teeth chattering uncontrollably, etc. I would have been miserable if someone had taken my blankie away.

Aspirin and fluids.

Why are men "students" but women "coeds"? || Pimping my question.
