I(POD) have spoken.... [More:]

I have done it. Broken the final seal. Dealt with sub-literate Best Buy brokers and come away with the new iPOD Classic 80Gig model, in gleaming black and chrome.

It is resting like a famished lion on top of the hard drive, with it's cybernetic tongue lolling out, waiting for Itunes 7.42 to finally download so it can feast.

Oh yes, my pretties - she is sleek like the night, smooth like the fur of a baby seal, and packed with more horsepower than all of the Trans Ams the football team took your best girl to the prom in.

My life may never be the same....

The koolaid's tasty, isn't it?

Dear God, the wheel, she spins....first AC Newman, then Sufjan Stevens, piped directly into my mushy haid, campers. And my entire downloaded collection didn't even hit 3 gigs of space.

*foams at mouth, coughs*

Wow - I don't know what I'd do with 80 gigs. I'm happy with my little four gig mini. I just bought an ipod sock for it last sunday. :)

I bought an 80-gig iPod several months ago. At the time, being utterly clueless about downloading music and file sizes and everything, I figured, more gigs = better.

Now I have ripped all my CDs, all my wife's CDs, all my friends' CDs. I have spent waaaaaay too much money on iTunes buying stuff to replace stuff I lost long ago, or wished I had, or whatever. I have sought out friends' bands' MySpace pages *shudder* and downloaded their stuff. I have gone to archive.org and downloaded live shows of bands I enjoy.

I have subscribed to podcasts, purchased audiobooks, even gotten a course or two off of iTunes U.

It has taken months. There is practically NOTHING LEFT that I want to own, music-wise.

My iPod is still just half full.

And they just came out with a 160-gig model.

Lipstick Thespian - are you the other resident Sufjan fan?

What's your favourite?

Do you have the crimmis box?

What state will be next? I'm thinking Ohio.

Eh, it's a nice shiny toy. They have some coolness about them, also some suckiness about them. You'll find out soon enough.

I'm happy with my shuffle. Way happier than I was with my old 60gb Creative player (now a paperweight). I think the huge capacity players just hold too much goodness for me to deal with and it makes my brain confuzzled with the choices.

My 60 GB Creative is full. I WANT WANT WANT a 120 GB player!

I have an 8 GB nano, and I thought that would be plenty. But no, I'm constantly moving songs on and off it. But the nano size is awesome. And it's red. And, of course, shiny.

My 60gig creative is my stereo until I break down and get the olive. For wandering around, I want no more than my shuffle, but I'd like it in assorted colors.

I've held off on the iPod, but when they introduced a 160 gig model and my current player started malfunctioning and I remembered that they've apparently figured out gapless album track playback I could no longer resist. Funny thing: when you order from the online Apple store they ship from Shanghai (or at least mine did). Mmmm, fresh baked electronics!

When IPOD starts to support lossless compression file types (meaning I can upload ~50% of my music files, which are bootlegged concerts).

That wasn't a complete sentence.
