The Colorblind James Experience were a band from Rochester, New York, whose sound was a peculiar mix of jug-band, folk, country & polka, sometimes characterized as ‘circus rock.’ [More:] After their 1987 debut LP came to the attention of John Peel, they gained some modest fame in the UK & elsewhere in Europe, while remaining a strictly local act at home. I re-acquired this very LP the other day, having previously owned it, years ago, on cassette. I’ve mp3-ified & divshared some of the lo-fi, lo-budget fun therein for your listening pleasure…

- The German Girls

- A Different Bob

- First Day of Spring

- Considering a Move to Memphis

- Fledgling Circus

Alas, (Colorblind) James ‘Chuck’ Cuminale himself died in 2001, aged only 49.
Bah! I haven't heard The German Girls in like 20 years!
Awesome, Misteraitch! Man that song brings back great memories.
