What is/was the best car(s) you've had? This MeFi thread, about the "50 worst cars of all time" got me thinking.
→[More:]Who, really, cares about the bad cars they've had, if they've had very many? Personally, I remember the good/great/fun ones I've had, some for not nearly long enough:
1958 MGA Twin Cam
1960 Lincoln Continental
1976 Mercury Capri V6 2.8L
1974
Lotus Europa (John Player Special)
1962 Porsche 356 (complete clunker, I spent a fortune, still a clunker, I
loved it.)
1974 BMW 2002 (wasn't a clunker, but it needed work, all the time).
I had a lot of American company cars in the late '70's and '80s, and I spent whatever transportation money I would have spent on cars, on motorcycles in the late 80's and 90's. Mostly BMW Boxers,
Jawas, and
Nortons.
Since then, I've had Hondas, Dodges, Plymouths, and Chevy trucks. And I've got now, for sentimental reasons, my Dad's old '97 Dodge Intrepid. I drove it 90 miles today, and I know he'd like that I've kept it, and that it's still running well.
But all said, the '58 MGA, and the Lotus Europa are the cars by which I still measure all other cars I've driven. And except for my '89 Honda Accord, all the rest have felt like trucks (which was fine, for the trucks).
What's been the vehicle you've owned/driven that you've liked best?
