I also wanted to add that I get a vague feeling that the article above is not just comparing 'Queer Eye' and Gunn Style' but subtlety defining how gay men, on TV, should behave, to be considered safe; as the caddy and a bit effeminate gay stereotype American viewers are comfortable with - the jester, the buffoon.
(disclaimer: I'm a big fat gay man and DAMN proud of it!)
Right- like "OMG A BORING GAY GUY WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE!!11" I'm going to do a Boring Gay 2007 tour, and take all the boring gays I know on tour to cities where there aren't a lot of gays. Gays, they're just as boring as us!
Haven't seen the Tim Gunn show yet. Will weigh in once I do.
Last night I remembered I didn't record Gunn's new show. Wasn't the premier Sept. 6? The good thing about Bravo is that they will repeat the hell out of it.
